New EU Customs Charges on International Shipments
As of July 2026, the European Union has removed its €150 duty-free threshold. All shipments into the EU — regardless of value — are now subject to customs duties (import charges) and import VAT. This is a regulatory change mandated by the EU and outside our control, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Will I be charged duties and VAT on my order?
Yes, if you're shipping to an EU country. These charges are calculated by customs based on your order value and are charged by the courier at checkout or on delivery, not by Egmont Honey.
Which countries does this affect?
All 27 EU member states. Shipments to the UK, USA, Australia, and New Zealand are unaffected by this change.
Why isn't Egmont covering this cost?
Duties (import charges) and import VAT are set and collected by EU customs authorities, not by us. We're not able to absorb or waive these charges, but we want you to know about them upfront so there are no surprises at delivery.
Also due to new EU customs regulations, we're currently unable to ship to Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain — we're working to restore this as quickly as possible.

Honey Enquiries
All our honey is 100% raw and unpasteurised. Our hives are located deep within New Zealand’s untouched native forests, which allows our bees to collect pure nectar directly from the Mānuka (Leptospermum scoparium) tree.
To ensure the highest quality, every batch undergoes independent laboratory testing to confirm it is non-GMO, glyphosate residue-free, and antibiotic-free
Mānuka honey comes from nectar predominantly sourced from the Mānuka tree and contains special compounds such as methylglyoxal (MGO). Because of its rare and limited harvest, and demand for its unique benefits, it tends to be more expensiver.
“Regular” or table honeys blend nectar from multiple flowers (multifloral) and are used mostly for flavour and everyday sweetness. While Mānuka honey may offer additional benefits when it is of high grade, due to the MGO compound found in the honey. For general culinary use, regular honey is still an excellent natural sweetener.
