Egmont Honey Glazed Ham
This orange, ginger and honey glazed ham recipe might just become your go-to. Not only does it look impressive, it is packed with flavour and warming spices to make it the perfect Christmas table centre-piece.

INGREDIENTS
- ¼ champagne ham (approx. 2kg)
- ½ cup/185g Egmont Honey
- ¼ cup orange juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 thumb-sized piece ginger, thinly sliced
- 2 oranges, peeled, thinly sliced
METHOD
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
- Peel the skin from the ham making sure to keep the fat intact.
- Discard the skin and put the ham into an oven-proof dish.
- Put the honey, orange juice, cinnamon stick and ginger into a small heavy-bottomed pot.
- Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer until it thickens and forms a syrupy glaze. This will take roughly 10 minutes.
- Brush this glaze over the ham, then arrange the orange slices on top, overlapping them slightly and securing with toothpicks if required.
- Glaze the ham again then roast for 45 minutes, glazing every 15 minutes until the orange slices start to turn brown around the edges.
- Remove from the oven, slice and serve.
