At Egmont Honey we leave our bees in the natural rainforests all year round.
This ensures that you as the consumer get some of the most natural, pure and pristine honey in the world.
All of our hives are situated on very remote forest blocks in the South Taranaki region. Some of our land is so remote that we have to use helicopters to lift the hives into stands of flowering Manuka for the summer.
After the Manuka flow, we bring all of the hives back to the “home block” which has 2000 acres of native bush for the bees to “winter” on.
We do not use our hives for any commercial pollination and as a result the bees are never exposed to pesticides or other chemicals known to contribute to the world's decline in bee numbers.
If you want beehives on your land that comes with responsible beekeepers give us a call for a no obligation conversation.
